Independent Trustee vacancy 

National Voices is the national coalition of health and care charities in England. We have a growing reputation for our work to strengthen the voices of patients, service-users, families and our member organisations.  

A key part of our agenda is to champion effective action for those with the biggest burden of ill health, and for people who suffer exclusion and discrimination. We seek a trustee who can strengthen the capacity of our board of trustees to address this set of issues. You will increase the diversity of voices on our board and build our understanding of people whose needs are insufficiently met by health and care services.  

You will have personal experience or professional  expertise - or both – in relation to the needs of particular groups. These could include black and ethnic minorities, people with particular conditions or disabilities, younger or older people, or excluded communities.  

Whatever your background, you should be an influential communicator, and able to work as part of a team to inform and shape National Voices’ agenda. Other relevant skills, for example in marketing, communications and business development, are desirable but not essential. You do not have to have served on the board of a national charity before.

This is an unpaid role, but reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

External Advisor - Wellbeing Our Way 

We are seeking an external advisor to provide support around developing the most efficient methodology for the Wellbeing Our Way programme’s mapping on a consultancy basis. We are looking for advice around developing methods to identify, map and record different activities across a broad range of voluntary and community sector organisations. We would like to establish a data baseline, identify themes, and monitor subsequent programme impacts on the diverse activities of the Wellbeing Our Way programme

The ideal candidate may be an experienced social scientist, researcher or similar, who is able to work independently and make recommendations to the programme lead and director of policy around the most effective methodologies. For further information, please see here.
