National Voices in the People's Transformathon
National Voices and Expert by Experience Lynne Craven are hosting part of the People's Transformathon, a free online event, on 28 November 2016.
The People's Transformathon will bring together patients, carers, service users, and staff from across the health and care systems in the UK and overseas to share and discuss the latest innovations and practices in coproduction and engaging people and communities.
Sponsored by the Five Year Forward View People and Communities Board, the Transformathon is based on the Board's 'Six principles for engaging people and communities'.
A session led by National Voices and Expert by Experience Lynn Craven will run from 2 to 3pm and will consider Principle One: 'Care and support is person-centred: Personalised, coordinated and empowering' from individual, community and system levels.'
Natalie Koussa, Programme Lead of National Voices' Wellbeing Our Way, will chair the session, joined by:
- Lindsay Oliver, National Director of Year of Care Partnerships, who will introduce personalised care and support planning as a way in which people can be linked in with ‘more than medicine’ and community support
- Lynne Craven in conversation with Dr Alf Collins, National Clinical Lead for Person-Centred Care at NHS England, sharing personal and clinical perspectives on supported self management
- Chris Dabbs, Director of Innovation at Unlimited Potential, discussing asset-based approaches as a means for valuing the contributions of local people, carers and communities as an integral part of the health and care system
