Tue, 5 July 2016

Junior doctor and student members of the BMA have voted against a proposed new contract for junior doctors.

British Medical Association junior doctor and student members have voted against a revised junior doctor contract.

Responding to the result, Jeremy Taylor, chief executive of National Voices, the coalition of 160 health and care charities, said:

We encourage all concerned to engage constructively to find a way forward, and to avoid further industrial action that would almost certainly have a detrimental impact on patients, their families and their carers.

The last thing the NHS and patients need is more strike action.
