Shared view of quality for general practice
Wed, 28 March 2018
The 11 national organisations who together are responsible for the regulation and oversight of general practice in England have today (28 March 2018) published a joint view of the principles that define quality in general practice.
This national strategy will form the basis for defining quality measures and best practice.
National Voices contributed to the development of the shared view of quality for general practice.
Commenting on the document, Don Redding, Director of Policy at National Voices, said:
The Shared View of Quality in General Practice has moved the definition of quality in primary care forwards. It recognises some of the most important issues facing patients – inequalities, multiple long term conditions, the need for a person-centred approach using care and support planning.
People with long term conditions are the core customer of the NHS and the shared view of quality challenges primary care to step up and meet the needs of those patients.
