Wellbeing Our Way is 2 today!
Thu, 23 June 2016
On Wellbeing Our Way’s second birthday, we’re taking the opportunity to look back at our progress over the last year. As a community of charities, community organisations and individuals, those involved in Wellbeing Our Way work together to develop culture and practice across the voluntary sector to enable people with health needs to live well, in ways that matter to them.
Over the last year, we’ve developed five thriving communities of practice, which bring together small, diverse groups of voluntary and community organisations to share learning and challenges.
Earlier this year, the care and support planning community published its #PlanForLife paper, and other communities have contributed to Realising the Value. We have exciting plans for developing two communities of practice in Greater Manchester; focusing on peer support and supporting self management.
We’ve launched our virtual WOW! Exchange: an online library of more than 65 examples of how charities and community groups are enabling people to live well. Please share your own examples, and we’ll help to publicise your great work.
Our events continue to offer valuable opportunities for learning and exploring new partnerships; we have just hosted self management and peer support workshops in Manchester, and have a systems leadership masterclass coming up in September.
There are still opportunities to get involved:
- Sign up for WOW Now, our monthly e-newsletter
- Join us at an upcoming event
- Get in touch for a conversation around how we may be able to work together
