Care Standards & Patient Feedback

National Voices’ response to government news release
Don Redding, National Voices’ Director of Policy, says:
“National Voices welcomes the drive towards compassionate care, better training and increased understanding of dementia. We are also keen to see comprehensive patient feedback used to spur improvements – but this needs to go further and deeper than the “friends and families test”, and it is not advisable to place too much reliance on one crude measure. The providers of NHS care need objective and specific feedback on the details of patients’ experiences so that they know what needs changing. Commissioners need to require every trust to establish systematic near real time feedback, based on tested questions from existing NHS surveys."
