Q Lab Essays: How do people make decisions in peer support?

From April 2017 to May 2018, the Q Improvement Lab explored what it would take for peer support to more widely available to those who needed it, to support their long-term health and wellbeing needs. During the project, the Q Lab carried out a nationwide survey on decision-making in peer support - which is believed to be the biggest peer support survey in the UK. This essay presents the findings from the survey and valuable insights on both the current awareness and uptake of peer support, as well as new information about what matters to people when deciding to either access peer support or refer/recommend peer support to others.
