Q Lab Essays: Learning and insights on peer support

From April 2017 to May 2018, the Q Improvement Lab explored what it would take for peer support to more widely available to those who needed it, to support their long-term health and wellbeing needs. This essay is a summary of the learning and insights on peer support gathered during the 12-month project. It draws on current evidence, as well as the knowledge and experience of almost 200 Lab participants that worked with the Q Lab. The project uncovered some examples of great work happening in peer support, as well as surfacing some of key challenges and tensions that need to be worked through in order to deliver high quality peer support.
