Virtual Peer Mentoring for young LGBT people

Here's the shared example

The Proud Trust supports lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans young people in the UK.

Young people who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans or questioning their sexual orientation or gender can talk in confidence to peer mentors through:

  • Facebook: befriending at ‘Peer Mentorsnw’
  • Email:
  • Telephone or text: 07535 539 520 (line operates 8-9pm on Tuesdays)

The peer mentoring team are young volunteers trained to offer support to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans young people. This supportive relationship could involve anything from talking about issues troubling young people to finding information about social events.

“I think peer mentoring is good because you can meet someone before going to the centre, you have someone to talk to. I felt really looked after.”
