National Voices - users shaping health and social care
The inception of National Voices is set to be a key development in the voluntary sector
National Voices is the new umbrella organisation established by and for the voluntary sector. It brings together all national voluntary organisations representing users of health and social care to give them a stronger voice in policy-making. Further information on joining is here
By joining, you can ensure that the people you represent - service users, their carers and families - have a stronger voice in policy-making. Members have a real opportunity to help us to shape health and social care policy, and to ensure that the views and opinions of their constituents are heard by policy-makers, national regulators, professions and politicians.
Together, we will work towards ensuring that services are shaped by what service users really need - rather than by what policy-makers think they need.
Join National Voices today and become a part of the most significant development in the voluntary sector for many years.
Who can join?
Membership is open to all voluntary organisations that represent service-users, provided they are based in England and have a national or international remit.
Within these criteria, National Voices welcomes membership applications from both large and small organisations, staffed and unstaffed, and values all their varied contributions. Current Members
Member Events & Consultations
We hold regular events for our members, often in partnership with other
external organisations, such as the Department of Health. In addition to our AGM, which also includes a mini-conference, we hold at least four events every year. These are free to members, and provide valuable opportunities for training, networking and consultation.

Become part of National Voices
Becoming part of National Voices means that you will enable your organisation to add its voice to a well-regarded, influential alliance that Government and policy-makers make an effort to consult.
As a member you can influence the future of National Voices and its priorities, and show your commitment to achieving better lives for the service users that you represent. By joining, you will help to avoid working in isolation, and will benefit from the advantages of working as part of a much larger unit. In short, you will be ensuring that your organisation’s voice can be heard as effectively as possible. To view a comprehensive list of our current members click here
Networking
Members have told us that the opportunity to network with and learn from other organisations is a key benefit of membership. As well as our events, we also carry requests for support in 10 Things from National Voices, and we encourage members to work together on projects of joint interest. We also maintain a network or people who are directly involved in policy work in their organisation.
Key information for members
Structures and policies in the health and social care sectors are continually changing, and are often complex. This means that there are often a wide range of factors affecting the lives of the people you represent. Members receive exclusive information on current developments and proposed changes that are relevant to their work.
10 Things from National Voices is a fortnightly e-newsletter, produced exclusively for our members. It provides a concise round-up of policy changes, consultations and other key news from the voluntary sector. Members can also promote key projects and other information to other members via this medium.
Members automatically receive Connect which is National Voices’ quarterly magazine for the wider world, and sets out our agenda for change
