Esther Freeman

Esther is passionate about the provision of inspiring, inclusive, person-centred health & social care services designed to ensure that individuals are empowered to make decisions in relation to their care and support.

She hasn’t followed a ‘traditional route’ to working as a Head of Locality Products at Stroke Association – coming from an arts background, starting in secondary and higher education, then in operations for extended schools programmes in areas of deprivation, working in children and adult mental health facilities and then into health & social care charities. Her experience has been underpinned by a commitment to championing access to care and services with the ambition of addressing inequalities, improving health, prospects and wellbeing.

Esther believes that we need to strive to continually improve experiences and accessibility, through harnessing the voice of lived experience and listening to the knowledge, expertise and insight of people who deliver services, volunteer time and understand our communities.
